Sam Hill on Jackson Road in Ann Arbor is a really fun spot with a lot of character. The menu was extensive, the food was pretty good, and the restaurant itself has a really neat look and feel. The outdoor space is fantastic, with live music, cornhole, games, and plenty of room to hang out. It feels like the kind of place that works just as well for dinner as it does for meeting friends, bringing family, or enjoying a summer evening outside. They also have some interesting indoor spaces and rooms that seem like they would be great for events or private gatherings. My only complaint is that nobody could tell me why the horse has seven legs. I still need answers on that. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. A very fun atmosphere, and a unique venue on the west side of Ann Arbor.

This place is great. I came here for a friend's family party, and we had a private room for the event. The food here is amazing and I wish this restaurant had a location closer to me so I can go more often. The maple pecan crunch desert stands out. The turkey club is fantastic and feels homemade. The appetizers are so delicious, and you just want to keep eating more! The staff was very friendly here. The place is very clean while we were there. Try this place when you are in the area of one.

Stopped by here on Easter Sunday recently. It was an impromptu visit during our travels and this was an amazing choice. Great service all around. The food was delicious and a great environment to be in. I will definitely come back.

Four of us over 60 tried this restaurant for the first time on a Friday night. We ordered Tomato Pies and Crab Cakes for our appetizers, with pot roast, turkey club, and a smash burger for our entrees, along with cocktails since it was happy hour. The reason they rate 4 stars when all the listed categories are 5 stars is that we ended up making a joke throughout dinner, constantly saying "You Have To Ask". Our cocktails were delivered without straws, and when we asked if she had straws, she replied, "Yes, but you have to ask." She had to run back to the bar to get straws, and while she was gone, we realized we didn't have cocktail napkins, and that condensation was dripping onto our clothes. When she returned, we asked if we could have cocktail napkins. Again, she replied, "Yes, but you have to ask". The waitress did explain that our drinks were at happy-hour prices until six o'clock, and we "asked" if we could have another round before it was over. The hamburger was only to have ketchup and tomato. It was served with cheese and onions, so it was sent back. The pot roast and turkey club were very good. I came here for restaurant week and I am very glad I didn’t come when the food was full price. This place deserves 1 star if it weren’t for the very kind wait staff (shoutout to Courtney to being an amazing server). I’m pretty sure this place is a Sysco kitchen (although they won’t admit it). We ordered the onion dip, the jambalaya pasta, the pot roast, and the pecan crumble. The onion dip tasted like the packets you get at the store (Lipton I’m pretty sure). The chips were great, they were obviously made in house, but the dip was mediocre at best. The jambalaya pasta, or should I say soup, was a disgrace to Creole and Cajun cuisine. The sauce was so watery it was pooling at the bottom of the plate, the sausage was cut in so many different ways, and the entire dish lacked any flavor (which goes against everything both of these cuisines are known for). The pasta was also incredibly mushy. The pot roast actually ruined my taste buds. It was so incredibly salty I needed to chug my water. There was also a 2:1 ratio of meats to carrot (carrots being the majority of this dish). The mashed potatoes tasted like they were powdered. Finally, the pecan crumble. Or rather the pecan oatmeal
